Rooftop HVAC lifts
Set or replace rooftop units, condensers and chillers.
Independent referral service. Border Quotes is not a contractor and does not own equipment or employ crews. We connect you with independent local companies, who quote and do the work directly. This is lifting, not towing.
The Valley's long cooling season makes rooftop HVAC change-outs one of the most common crane jobs. Packaged rooftop units range from a few hundred pounds to several thousand, but the crane size is driven by weight × radius: how far the unit has to travel horizontally from the crane to the curb on the roof.
What to have ready
- Unit model or weight (nameplate or submittal sheet), for both the old and new unit
- Building height and where on the roof the curb is
- Where the crane can set up (parking lot, street, alley) and any power lines
- Whether the old unit comes down in the same visit
- Preferred time — many summer lifts are scheduled at sunrise to beat heat and wind
HVAC contractors who send us repeat jobs can ask to be matched with the same crane company each time.
