Machinery moving combines a crane with rigging crews and sometimes a lowboy trailer, forklifts or machinery skates. Common Valley jobs include setting generators and transformers, moving cold-storage compressors near the Pharr bridge, relocating shop equipment and loading machines onto trucks.
What to have ready
- Machine make/model and weight, plus lifting points if known
- Pick-up and set locations (inside a building? doors and ceiling height?)
- Whether transport is needed and how far
- Utilities to disconnect/reconnect (usually by your electrician)
Published rate sheets show that riggers, signal persons, lowboys and spreader bars are billed separately from the crane, so a complete description gets you a more accurate quote.
